How to change the HTML doctype in Store Editor

The HTML <!DOCTYPE> declaration is the very first thing that appears on your HTML pages before the <html> tag. You can change the doctype within Store Editor. Learn more about the HTML <!DOCTYPE> declaration.

Change HTML doctype in Store Editor

Sign in to your My Services page.
Click the Store link.
Go to Store Editor.
In the Advanced Editor toolbar, click Controls.
Next to DOCTYPE selection, click the pull-down menu to select the preferred doctype:
- HTML 4.01 Transitional - <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">
- HTML 4.0 Strict - <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd">
- HTML 4.01 Strict - <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd">
- HTML 4.01 Loose - <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
- XHTML 1.0 Transitional - <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
- XHTML 1.0 Strict - <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
- HTML5 - <!DOCTYPE HTML>
Next to HTML_NO_DOCTYPE, select Use doctype from the pull-down menu.
Click the Update button.
Publish when ready.

Note: You will need to do a full publish.
