Please note that to send and receive your business email in this app, you must create an app password. Learn more. Tip: After you generate your app password, you may wish to make a note of it in your mobile device's Notes app and then copy/paste it into your mail settings.
Set up business mail on iOS with IMAP
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Mail.
- Tap Accounts.
- Tap Add Account.
- Tap Other.
- Tap Add Mail Account.
- Enter the following:
- Name - The name you want on your outgoing email.
- Email - Your full business mail email address.
- Password - The app password you created. Learn more about app passwords.
- Description - A descriptive name for your account.
- Tap Next.
- IMAP is the default option selected.
- Under Incoming Mail Server, enter the following:
- Under Outgoing Mail Server, enter the following:
- Host Name - smtp.bizmail.yahoo.com
- User Name - Your full business mail email address.
- Password - The app password you created. Learn more about app passwords.
- Tap Next.
- Tap Save. Note: You'll be redirected back to the screen where you'll see your current email accounts.
- Tap the account you just set up.
- Tap your account under the IMAP heading.
- Scroll down and tap Advanced.
- Under Incoming Settings, use the following settings:
- Use SSL - On
- Authentication - Password
- IMAP Path Prefix - Blank or "/"
- Server Port - 993
- Tap Account to go back to the Advanced screen.
- Under Outgoing Mail Server, tap smtp.bizmail.yahoo.com.
- Under Primary Server, tap smtp.bizmail.yahoo.com.
- Under Outgoing Mail Server, use the following settings:
- Host Name - smtp.bizmail.yahoo.com
- User Name - Your business mail email address.
- Password - The app password you created. Learn more about app passwords.
- Use SSL - On
- Authentication - Password
- Server Port - 465
- Tap Done.
- Tap Account to go back to the Advanced screen.
- Tap Done.
Congratulations! You can now send and receive emails with your iOS device.
Note: iOS devices can keep previous SMTP settings stored and enabled - even after new SMTP settings are added. If you see a connection error once the setup is complete - SMTP connection errors in particular - it's recommended to delete the mailbox, close the app, restart the device, open the app, and then re-enter your settings. This should disable previous SMTP settings. If needed, generate a new app password to replace the previous one.
