Note: The following page outlines variables that are only found in the 2.0 version of the Store Editor. If you do not see this section of variables, you are using the 3.0 version of Store Editor and can focus on variables specific to Store Editor 3.0.
Buttons in the Store Editor make up the navigation bar (sometimes called a button bar) which visitors use to navigate your site. The buttons consist of your site's contents (home, sections, items) as well as standard site links (show order, information, privacy policy, etc.). You can edit most aspects of the navigation buttons to give your site the look & feel that you want.

When you edit buttons in the Store Editor, you have the choice of making changes to all buttons by editing a variable, or overriding a variable on a particular page to customize the button on only that page. Since the buttons are used to navigate your site, most often your changes will be made by editing a variable so the changes are made across all buttons in your site. The Home page is one exception to this case and as such you can edit the button order on the Home page without needing to use a variable override.
The following list outlines the buttons that can be added to a navigation bar in the Store Editor:
- Contents - displays the Section(s) and Item(s) buttons. These buttons typically appear at the top of the navigation bar below the Home page button.
- Download (special case) - customers that have purchased downloadable goods can use to go to the Order Confirmation page from where they can download a downloadable item purchased.
- Email - creates a mailto link that opens the default email client when clicked; useful for adding a shortcut to your customer service email address for customers to use when they have questions.
- Empty - creates an empty button; useful for adding a space between Contents and Standard navigation buttons
- Help - links to http://store.yahoo.com/help.html which has information for shoppers
- Index - links to the site index (site map)
- Info - links to the required Info page at http://store.yahoo.com/account-id_or_account-name /info.html
- Mall - links to the URL in the Mall-url field; remove number to remove the Y! Shopping logo from the navigation bar. Can use to create another image button by uploading an image to the Mall-image field and entering the target URL to the Mall-url field.
- Next - links to the subsequent Section page if on a Section page or the subsequent Item page if on an Item page.
- Privacypolicy - links to the required privacy policy page at http://store.yahoo.com/account-id_or_account-name/privacypolicy.html
- Register - deprecated no longer used; available only to legacy store merchants on the old checkout flow at the time the feature was deprecated.
- Request - links to Catalog Request form
- Search - links to the search page
- Show Order- links to shopping cart
- Up - links to the parent Section page if on an item or to the Home page if on a Section (or to a parent section if on a sub-section)
