Note: The following Help Page is for merchants using Editor 2.0 templates or custom templates. A Floating Cart RTML Operator and Mini-cart ID are already included in Editor 3.0 templates. Merchants using Editor 3.0 templates should publish Store Editor prior to enabling the Mini-cart and Floating Cart in Floating Cart Manager.
The Mini-cart ID is required for Floating Cart positioning, and must be included in your pages in addition to the Floating Cart script. Recommended placement of the Mini-cart ID is as a div element immediately below the page's opening <body> tag.
Note for Editor 2.0 template users: At this time, inserting the Mini-cart ID requires template modification, to either add the FC-BAR operator, or to call a custom variable in the <body> section of your store pages. Installation of the Floating Cart for Editor 2.0 templates should only be done by merchants or developers who are familiar with RTML and template customization. Note: Turbify does not support RTML or template modification. If you are using standard Editor 2.0 templates, you may wish upgrade to Editor 3.0 templates by running the Design Wizard.
Retrieve and install the Mini-cart ID
- Sign in to your My Services page.
- Click the Store link.
- Go to Floating Cart Manager.
- From the Manual Setup tab, click the arrow to expand Option 2: Insert a floating cart script and mini-cart ID into your store pages. This tab must be expanded to view and copy the Mini-cart ID.
- Copy the Mini-cart ID. It will look like the following:
- Go back to Store Manager and then Store Editor.
- Go to Variables.
- Here, you may insert the Mini-cart ID into any field that accepts HTML. Merchants using customized Editor 3.0 templates may wish to insert the Mini-cart ID into the Tagline-content variable.
- Click the Update button.
At this time, inserting the Mini-cart ID into Editor 2.0 templates requires template modification (please see the note to Editor 2.0 template users, above). In order to place the Mini-cart ID immediately below the page's opening <body> tag, you may wish to create a new custom variable, and edit your template the call this variable in this location. This option is only recommended for developers or merchants familiar with customizing templates. Turbify cannot provide further instructions around editing your template to call a custom variable, as we do not support RTML modification and template customization.
If you use Editor 2.0 templates and have chosen to insert the Mini-cart ID into the Head-tags field, please note that you may experience some known display issues with the Floating Cart, as the Head-tags field is not called in the <body> section of your pages.
If you've already inserted the Floating Cart script into your pages, you may publish your changes in Store Editor. If you haven't inserted the Floating Cart script into your store pages, you must do so at this time.
Once the Floating Cart script and Mini-cart ID have been inserted into your store pages, and you've published these changes, you may use Floating Cart Manager to enable, disable, and customize your Mini-Cart and Floating Cart.
If you are not using Store Editor to design, manage, and maintain your store pages, please see our Floating Cart help for third-party design tools:
