We recommend that you update WordPress whenever a new version becomes available so that you can take advantage of improvements and useful new features. After we have reviewed the stability of a new release, we'll let you know that an update is available by sending an email to your login ID email address. Your WordPress dashboard and the WordPress Toolkit in cPanel will also alert you that an update is available.

When the update becomes available, you can upgrade yourself by visiting your WordPress dashboard or WordPress Toolkit. Learn how to update your WordPress theme and plugins. 

Tips: Before upgrading, we recommend you review the details of the new version and back up your blog database. We'll walk you through each step.

If you have moved your site, be sure to update the location of your site files in the WordPress dashboard. If the server can't find your WordPress files, we won't be able to alert you when an upgrade becomes available.
