The sending name is the name that recipients will see in your sent messages. You can edit the sending name in your business email settings.
Note: If you have issues with email delivery (flagged as spam or delayed sending), review the sending name in the Your Name field for the following:
- Ensure the sending name does not end in a period ".".
- Sending names should not have .com, .org or any domain extension in it.
- Special characters should be used only when necessary (@, _, -, +, etc.). An example of a necessary special character may be if the last name is hyphenated (Dow-Johnson).
- Ensure the sending name is appropriate (it should not contain trademarks/brands that you do not have authorization to use). For example, "yahoo" should not be part of the sending name as it will then appear to be phishing.
- Should either be the sender's name (James Johnson) or the department representing the business mailbox (Cat Lady Support).
