Can't send email using POP/IMAP mail client

Troubleshooting issues sending messages from your email client program.

Article ID: SLN17514

Please note that to send and receive your business email using POP or IMAP, you must create an app password. Learn more.

Important: Transport Layer Security (TLS) is a protocol used by applications to communicate securely across a network. In order to better protect your data and that of your users, as of March 1, 2018, Turbify no longer supports TLS 1.0 encryption. After that date, we will support only TLS version 1.2. Older versions of mail clients may no longer work, so please contact your software provider if you run into issues.

Check your mail client settings

Set up guidelines for POP/IMAP mail clients. Select your client from the list to view our recommended configuration:

Using a different email client? Consult your email program's help files for information about configuring SMTP settings. Use these settings as a reference.

List of ISP SMTP server settings

If your ISP is not listed above, please contact your ISP to see if it requires a different SMTP sever setting instead of Turbify's.

SMTP Port

Our outgoing mail settings require SSL, which uses port 465. Your ISP may be blocking port 465. Try using port 587 as an alternative. Learn more about POP, IMAP and SMTP settings.

Norton Antivirus

If Norton is installed on your computer, you'll need to configure it to work with the mail client. For help configuring Norton Antivirus, visit the Norton Help Center

Additional things to consider

  • Make sure you've entered your business mail email address as the From address.
  • Review our sending limits to check if you're reaching the cap. Please remember that our business mail is not intended to be used for bulk or marketing messages.
