Collecting catalog requests

Learn how to set up Catalog Requests.

Article ID: SLN19379

Merchants using Store Editor 3.0 templates can choose to link to their Catalog Request form by adding a link to their main site navigation, or by adding a link using any variable that accepts HTML input (for example, the HTML-below-left-nav variable for merchants using Design Wizard-based side navigation templates, or the Final-text variable).

Add a link to your main navigation

You can add a Catalog Request link to your navigation links using the Link feature in Store Editor.

  1. Sign in to your My Services page.
  2. Click the Store link.
The Store link is under Control Panels.
  3. Go to Store Editor.
The Store Editor link is under Edit.
  4. Click the Link button in the Editor toolbar.
    The Link button.
  5. Under Object properties:
    • Enter a name for your link in the Name field. For example, Request a catalog.
    • Enter the URL for the link. The URL for your store's Catalog Request is formatted as follows:
https://order.store.yahoo.net/cgi-bin/wg-request-catalog?store_ID  Learn how to find your store ID.
    The Name and Url fields.
  6. Click the Update button.
    The Update button.
Your link will be added to your store's main navigation:
    The Catalog Request navigation link.
  7. Publish when ready.
    The Publish Options button.

Add a link to another area of your store pages

You can also add a text or image link to your Catalog Request form to another area of your store using a variable field that accepts HTML. For example, if your store uses a Design Wizard-based side navigation template, you may wish to place a Catalog Request image link below your side navigation using the HTML-below-left-nav variable. If your store doesn't use a side navigation template, you may wish to place the link in another variable field that accepts HTML (for example, the Final-text variable). To create a link in one of these fields, you must format your link using the HTML a tag.

For this example, we'll use the Final-text variable and add an image link.

  1. Sign in to your My Services page.
  2. Click the Store link.
The Store link is under Control Panels.
  3. Go to Store Editor.
The Store Editor link is under Edit.
  4. Go to Variables.
    The Variables button.
  5. In the Final-text field enter your Catalog Request link, hard-coded in HTML. Catalog Request forms created in Checkout & Registration Manager use the following link format:
https://order.store.yahoo.net/cgi-bin/wg-request-catalog?store_ID Learn how to find your store ID.
    The Catalog Request HTML.
  6. Click the Update button.
    The Update button.
  7. You can now preview the Catalog Request link on your store pages.
    The Catalog Request image link.
  8. Publish when ready. Note: Making changes in Variables will require a full publish. Learn more.
    The Publish Options button.
