The PROMO-CATEGORY operator is used to show available promotions for each category (section) in your store. If you wish to show promotions for categories, this RTML operator must be added to your category pages.

To add the PROMO-CATEGORY operator:

1. Open Store Editor to Advanced Editor mode.
2. Click the Templates link in the Editor toolbar.
3. From the list of templates, open your category page template for editing. Because you are using customized templates, Turbify cannot advise you of the name of this template.
4. Select an existing operator or variable within the page that you wish to place your new operator after once created. If using the page. template in Editor 3.0 as an example, you could select the DIV for "contentarea" with the intent of placing PROMO-CATEGORY after this in the template.
5. Click the "New" button at the top of the template page.
6. Select PROMO-CATEGORY from the list of operators, then click the Create button.
7. Click the Paste Within button at the top of the template page. The PROMO-CATEGORY operator will be inserted into your template.

After you have added the PROMO-CATEGORY operator, make sure that the leaf variable is set to "No" for your category pages, if leaf is not set to "No" the operator will not work.

NOTE:Once you've added the RTML operators to your templates, you must publish the Store Editor for the changes to take effect on your live store. Previewing your promotions in Store Editor before publishing your changes is strongly recommended. Publishing Store Editor is a one-time action and will not be required each time a promotion is created or edited.
