How changes affect billing depend on your current plan, and the type of plan to which you're switching.
Switching from Business Mail, Web Hosting, or Merchant Solutions
When you switch from a Business Mail, Web Hosting, or Merchant Solutions plan to another plan, a prorated refund is issued based on the number of days remaining in your previous service period and the first charge for the new service is billed. The date of the change will be the new billing date.
Example:
Imagine you signed up for a monthly service on the first of the month and pay $30 a month. Fifteen days into the month, you decide to change to a monthly plan that costs $60.
- You'll receive a prorated refund of $15 for the unused portion of your original monthly service.
- You will be charged $60 for the new service.
- The date of the change will be the new billing date.
Switching from Business Mail, Web Hosting, or Merchant Solutions to Domains
When you change from a Business Mail, Web Hosting, or Merchant Solutions to a Domains plan, we'll refund a prorated amount for your current service (based on the number of days remaining within the service period), and charge the full amount for the new Domains plan. Additionally, your domain registration will be extended by a year. The date of the change will be the new billing date.
Switching from Domains or Custom Mailbox to Business Mail, Web Hosting, or Merchant Solutions
When you switch from a Domains or Custom Mailbox to a Business Email, Web Hosting, or Merchant Solutions plan, you will be charged for the new plan and the date of the change will be the new billing date. Note that you will not receive a refund for the unused portion of the old plan.
Switching from Custom Mailbox to Domains
If you switch from Custom Mailbox to a Domains plan, you will be billed the full amount for the new service and the domain registration extended by a year. The date of the change will be the new billing date. Note that you will not receive a refund for the unused portion of your old plan.
