Option-based product codes are unique codes assigned to individual product options - for example, if you're selling a t-shirt (item code tshirt01) that comes in two sizes (small and large) and two colors (red and blue), you might assign t-shirt size and color combination options individual product codes, as follows:
Product Options | Option Codes |
Red, Small | tshirt01-rd-sm |
Red, Large | tshirt01-rd-lg |
Blue, Small | tshirt01-bl-sm |
Blue, Large | tshirt01-bl-lg |
When the table containing this product is downloaded as a CSV file in Catalog Manager, the Code column will contain the following entry:
tshirt01;Color:Red#Size:S=tshirt01-rd-sm&Color:Red#Size:L=tshirt01-rd-lg&Color:Blue#Size:S=tshirt01-bl-sm&Color:Blue#Size:L=tshirt01-bl-lg
If you wish to modify these codes, they must be updated individually, or by updating the codes in the CSV file and uploading the file in Catalog Manager. Please note that the Edit All function in Store Editor cannot be used to update option-based product codes, as this will cause existing option-based product codes to be lost. It's also not recommended to edit options with option-based product codes using the Edit All function as this may cause similar issues.
