PayPal confirms the buyer's shipping addresses by reviewing the address information supplied by the PayPal account holder and deeming the address as safe based on information about the address. A confirmed address is helpful to sellers as an information tool to make informed decisions when processing a transaction.
In your PayPal Checkout Settings, you may choose to replace a buyer-specified shipping address with the address associated with the buyer's PayPal account, although merchants should note that this address may be modified by the buyer upon returning to checkout.
Replace a buyer-specified shipping address with an address associated with the buyer's PayPal account
- Sign in to your My Services page.
- Click the Store link.
- Go to Payment Center.
- Click the PayPal Checkout link (if the module is not currently expanded) then click the Edit button.
- Ensure the PayPal Shipping Address option is set to Replace With PayPal Address then click the OK button.
- Return to Store Manager and publish your Order Settings.
Note: If you wish to flag orders with a shipping address that does not match the buyer's PayPal address (for example, if the buyer modifies the shipping address returned by PayPal after arranging payment and returning to checkout), you may do so by setting Flag Address Mismatch to Yes then click the OK button.
Orders with a shipping address that does not match the buyer's PayPal address will be flagged as Pending Review in Order Manager. Auto-capture of funds will not occur for flagged orders. Merchants must manually capture funds or cancel these orders using Order Manager.
Note: You can choose to block payments from U.S. users that do not provide a confirmed address by signing into PayPal and editing your Payment Receiving Preferences on the Profile tab of your account. However, if you also allow buyers to use a buyer-specified shipping address (set in your PayPal account settings at Turbify) and the shipping address is not confirmed, the order will not be allowed. As these two settings are incompatible, you must either select Buyer-specified Address as the PayPal Shipping Address setting for PayPal Checkout or choose not to block unconfirmed addresses at PayPal.
