Important: All FTP sessions require an FTPS connection along with TLS 1.2 protocol support for increased system security.
FTPS connection requirements
- An FTPS tool - If you already have an FTP tool, make sure that it supports FTPS. If you are unsure if your tool supports FTPS, we suggest reviewing the program's help files, you should be able to find the answer there. If your current tool does not support FTPS you will need to download one that does.
- Your FTPS settings - You can find your FTPS settings on the FTP Accounts page in cPanel, then click the Configure FTP Client link. The settings will look something like this:
- FTP username - log in name.
- FTP server - ftp.your-site-here.net (replace your-site-here.net with your domain name).
- FTP & explicit FTPS port - 21.
Note: If you created a user account in FTP Accounts and gave the user FTPS access, the username and password will be the ones you created. Learn more.
