Create a new FTPS user

1. Sign in to your My Services page.
2. Click the Web Hosting link.
   
3. Click FTP Accounts in the Files module.
   
4. In the Add FTP Account section:
   1. Enter a username in the Log In field.
   2. Enter a password and repeat the same password in the Password fields. Or generate a password by clicking Password Generator and cPanel will create a password for you. Note: The password strength indicator will evaluate your password strength. A 100 score indicates a very secure password, while 0 indicates a weak password.
   3. Select a Directory, if access to a specific directory is required. The user will only have access to the specified directory and subdirectories below it. To assign a user to one directory, use this format: public_html/example_name. Replace example_name with your directory name. You can use an existing directory (make sure the spelling is correct) or create a new one in this step. Note: cPanel automatically populates the Directory field with a subdirectory of the public_html directory in the format /[your domain name]/[ftp login name]. Providing access to the public_html directory is only recommended if the user needs full access to the website files. 
   4. Select a disk space Quota, if required. The default is Unlimited.
   5. Click the Create FTP Account button.
      
5. The new user account will appear under FTP Accounts. 
   
6. To verify a user's directory path, click the Ellipsis in the path structure.
   
7. You can now give the new user their login, password, and FTPS settings for their FTP client.

Note: You cannot edit a user's login or directory path after creating a user, you must delete the user and create again. Only the password and quota can be changed.
