Add a custom variable

Learn how to add and define custom variables in the Store Editor.

You can define custom variables in the Store Editor for your store that you can then use by editing templates to include the custom variable. You must set the Store Editor to advanced mode in order to add custom variables to the Variables page.

Add a custom variable

  1. Sign in to your My Services page.
  2. Click the Store link.
    The Store link is under Control Panels.
  3. Go to Store Editor.
    The Store Editor link is under Edit.
  4. From the Advanced Editor toolbar, go to Variables.
    The Variables button.
  5. Click the Define New Variable button.
    The Define New Variable button.
  6. In the Define New Variable dialog:
    • In the Name field, enter a name for your custom variable.
    • In the Type pull-down menu, select a field type that corresponds to the type of input field you want for the variable. For example, if you wish to add a variable to place HTML for a page footer, select the text type.
    • Click the Continue button.

  7. Back on the Variables page under Custom Variables, edit the custom variable value as desired.

  8. Click the Update button.
    The Update button.

Note: Now that you have defined a new custom variable, you must call the variable by editing the template.
