Create a vacation response

Learn how to send an automated reply from your business email account when you will be away for a while.

Create a vacation response in Full-featured Mail

  1. Sign in to your business email account.
  2. Click the Settings icon.
    The Settings menu icon.
  3. Click the More Settings link.
    The More Settings link.
  4. Select Vacation Response.
    The Vacation Response Link.
  5. Toggle the switch next to Turn on vacation response to the right to enable it.
    Enable the vacation response.
  6. Select a start and end date for your vacation response.
    Enter the start and end dates.
  7. Enter the response you want senders to see.

    Note: Each sender will only receive one vacation response between the dates set above, no matter how many times they email during that window.
  8. If you wish, you can choose to send a different response to specific domains.

  9. Click the Save button.

Create a vacation response in Basic Mail

  1. Sign in to your business email account.
  2. On the top-right, select Settings from the pull-down menu then click the Go button.
    Go to Settings.
  3. On the left, select Vacation Response.
    Select vacation Response.
  4. On the Vacation Response page:
    • Select the checkbox next to Set automatic reply to your emails when you are out on vacation or out of office.
    • Select a start and end date for your vacation response.
    • Enter the response you want senders to see. Note: Basic Mail does not have a rich text option for vacation responses.
      Create your vacation response.
      Note: Each sender will only receive one vacation response between the dates set above, no matter how many times they email during that window.
    • If you wish, you can choose to send a different response to specific domains.

  5. Click the Save button.
