Alt text is descriptive text that shows when you mouse over an image or if the image doesn't appear on a page.

• Alt text is important for site visitors with visual or audio impairments who might use special readers.
• Search engines may also use alt text to index your site.

Tip: Alt text should offer an accurate and concise description of the image, but you can also use a caption to add more detail about what the image represents.
