How do I edit my domain redirect?

Learn how to modify your existing domain redirect settings.

Domain redirects allow you to redirect your domain name to another website.

Edit your domain redirect for Business Mail and Domains Only

  1. Sign into your My Services page.
  2. Click the Domain link.
    The Domain link is under Control Panels.
  3. Select the Domain Redirects tab.
    The Domain Redirects link. 
  4. Under Action, click the Edit icon for your domain forward.
    The Edit icon is to the right of the redirect destination address. 
  5. In the Update Redirect dialog:
    • Select your Destination Type.
    • Select your Redirect Type - Permanent (301) redirect or Temporary (302) redirect.
    • Enter an external destination address. Note: You have the option of entering redirect destination types, either a domain name or an IP address. If the destination is a specific page on the site being redirected to, the path to that page can also be included. 
    • Select the protocol you want to use with the destination address, either the HTTP or HTTPS protocol. Note: For destination websites that use SSL, always select the HTTPS protocol for the optimal visitor experience.
    • Click the Update button.

Edit your Domain redirect for Web Hosting 

To change a redirect in cPanel the existing redirect has to be deleted and a new one created with the new settings.

To do so:

  1. Sign in to your My Services page.
  2. Click the Web Hosting link.
    The Web Hosting link under Control Panels.
  3. Click Redirects in the Domains module.
    The Redirects link under Domains.
  4. Delete the existing redirect.
  5. Create a new redirect with the desired settings.
