Text in the Description field is used in the meta description tag of the page. The description you enter in the Add Product Wizard is added to the Description field by default. This tag has some implications for search engines and at times is used as the description for the page in search engine results.

Creating a good description

• Enter 30 words or fewer with no more than 180 characters.
• Make it relevant to your page content. Use the same keywords from your product or category description. This may help boost the relevancy of your page with search engines.
• Web directories and search engines may use the description as the summary of your page.

Did you know? The description can appear differently in Web directories because editors of Web directories can change them.

Add a description in Store Editor

1. Sign in to your My Services page.
2. Click the Store link.
   
3. Go to Store Editor.
   
4. Navigate to the page to which you wish to add a description.
5.  Click the Edit button.
   
6. Add your description to the Description field.
   
7. Click the Update button.
   
8. Repeat steps 4-7 on other pages to which you wish to add a description.
9. Publish when ready.
