Set up business email in Mac Mail

Learn how to setup your business email addresses on Mac Mail.

Version 12.1

  1. Launch the Mac Mail application.
  2. If you have no email accounts in Mac Mail or if it's your first time launching the app:
    • In the Choose a Mail account provider dialog, select Other mail Account, then click the Continue button.

    If there's at least one account already in Mac Mail:

    • Select Mail then Add Account.

    • In the Choose a Mail account provider dialog, select Other mail Account, then click the Continue button.

  3. Enter the following:
    • Full Name - The name you want on your outgoing email.
    • Email address - Your full business email address.
    • Password - The app password you created. Learn more about app passwords.
    • Click the Sign In button.
      Enter your login information.
  4. On the next screen, enter the following:
    • Email address - Your full business email address.
    • User Name - Your full business email email address.
    • Password - The app password you created. Learn more about app passwords.
    • Account Type - POP
    • Incoming Email Server - pop.bizmail.yahoo.com
    • Outgoing Mail server - smtp.bizmail.yahoo.com
    • Click the Sign In button. - You'll be taken to your Inbox.
      Enter your login and server information.

Older versions

  1. Launch the Mac Mail application.
  2. Click File | Add Account.
  3. Enter the following:
    • Full Name - The name you want on your outgoing email.
    • Email address - Your full business email address.
    • Password - The app password you created. Learn more about app passwords.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. In the Incoming Mail Server screen, enter the following:
    • Account Type - POP
    • Description -- A descriptive name for your account.
    • Incoming Email Server - pop.bizmail.yahoo.com
    • User Name - Your full business email email address.
    • Password - The app password you created. Learn more about app passwords.
  6. Click the Continue button
  7. In the Outgoing Mail Server screen, enter the following:
    • Description - This is optional.
    • Outgoing Mail server - smtp.bizmail.yahoo.com
    • Check Use only this server.
    • Check Use Authentication.
    • User Name - Your full business email email address.
    • Password - The app password you created. Learn more about app passwords.
  8. Click the Continue button
  9. Review the account info, then click Create.
    - You'll be taken to your Inbox.
  10. Click Mail, at the top, then select Preferences.
  11. Click the Accounts tab.
  12. Select your business email account.
  13. Click Advanced and confirm the following:
    • Check SSL
    • Use Port 995
