How do I change or delete a subdomain?

Learn how to edit or remove a subdomain.

You can edit the destination or a subdomain--or delete it--anytime from your Domain Control Panel or within cPanel (depending on your subscription).

Edit a subdomain

  1. Sign into your My Services page
  2. Click the Web Hosting link.
    The Web Hosting link is under Control Panels.
  3. Click the Domains link in the Domains module.

  4. Locate the subdomain you wish to edit and click the Manage button to the right.

  5. From here, you can choose a new document root (where the subdomain files exist). Note: Updating this will not move any files. You should ensure the files you want the subdomain to load exist within the directory before changing this field.

    • Click the Update button to save your changes.

    • A "Success" message will appear in the upper right.

    Delete a subdomain

    1. Sign into your My Services page
    2. Click the Web Hosting link.
      The Web Hosting link is under Control Panels.
    3. Click the Domains link in the Domains module.

    4. Locate the subdomain you wish to edit and click the Manage button to the right.

    5. Click the Remove Domain button at the bottom of the screen (in red).

    6. You will be prompted to confirm the deletion of the subdomain (this action cannot be undone). Click the Yes, Remove This Domain button to delete the subdomain permanently.

    7. Once completed, you will be redirected to the Domains panel with a green "Success" message on the upper right.
