To password protect a subdomain, link the subdomain to a password-protected directory in your website. You can create a new, password protected subdomain, or apply password protection to an existing subdomain.

Create a password protected subdomain

To create a subdomain that is password protected immediately:
  1. Create a password protected directory that will be used for the subdomain.
  2. Create a subdomain linked to the password protected directory.

The subdomain and directory you chose are now password protected and can only be viewed by entering the username and password for the user account you specified.

Password protect an existing subdomain

  1. Simply apply password protection to the existing subdirectory to which your subdomain is currently pointed.
