Copy and paste text into your webpage

Tip: Other documents (such as Word) may include hidden code that can change the text formatting on your page. We strongly recommend pasting your copied text into a plain text file first, which will remove any formatting, and then copying the text from the plain text file and pasting it into your webpage.

  1. Select the text you'd like to copy.
  2. Press Ctrl and C (Windows) or Command and C (Mac) to copy your text.
  3. Create a new plain text file using a plain text editor like Notepad or TextEdit.
  4. Press Ctrl and V (Windows) or Command and V (Mac) to paste your text into the plain text file.
  5. In the plain text file, select the text you'd like to copy again.
  6. Press Ctrl and C (Windows) or Command and C (Mac) to copy your text.
  7. Open your webpage in your webpage editor.
  8. Press Ctrl and V (Windows) or Command and V (Mac) to paste the text into your webpage.
