Set up business mail on Android

Add your business email to the native email app on Android devices.

Please note that to send and receive your business email in this app, you must create an app password. Learn more. Tip: After you generate your app password, you may wish to make a note of it in your mobile device's Notes app and then copy/paste it into your mail settings.

Important: These are instructions for Android's Email app. Instructions for other email apps will vary. Use these instructions only as a guideline and consult your service provider if you need additional help.

Set up business mail on Android with IMAP

  1. Tap the Email icon.

  2. Tap the Hamburger icon.

  3. Select the Settings icon.

  4. Tap Add account.
    The Add Account button.
  5. Tap Others.
    The Others option.
  6. Enter your full business email address and password then tap Manual setup.

  7. Tap IMAP account.
    The IMAP account option.
  8. Under Account and Incoming server:
    • Email address - Your full business mail email address.
    • User name - Your full business mail email address.
    • Password - The app password you created. Learn more about app passwords.
    • IMAP server - imap.mail.yahoo.com
    • Security type - SSL or SSL/TLS
    • Port - 993
    • IMAP path prefix - Leave blank.
    Your Account and Incoming server settings.
  9. Under Outgoing Server:
    • SMTP server - smtp.bizmail.yahoo.com
    • Security type - SSL or SSL/TLS
    • Port - 465
    • Authentication required before sending emails - Make sure this is selected.
    • User name - Your full business mail email address.
    • Password - The app password you created. Learn more about app passwords.
    • Tap Next.

    Note: Older versions of Android will have a Require sign-in checkbox.
  10. Select the frequency that the app will check for new email.
    The Frequency your app will check for emails.
  11. Enter the name you want for your Account and your Sending name for your outgoing emails, then tap Done.

Congratulations! You can now send and receive emails with your Android device.
