You can use the Order Manager to flag transactions as Fraudulent, Returned, or Cancelled. These options provide accurate reporting and order tracking. Here's a brief description of the each new option:
- Fraudulent - A fraudulent order is an order placed by a person whose identity or payment information is misleading or misrepresented. An order placed by an individual who has no intention of paying may also be considered fraudulent.
- Returned - A returned order is an order which the customer sends back after making a payment. The customer then receives a refund or credit. Returns usually require the customer to send back items that you have shipped. You have 90 days from the original order date to mark an order as returned.
- Cancelled - A cancelled order is an order withdrawn by the customer or merchant before it has been processed or shipped, and before payment has occurred.
Note: When you flag any of the above options you'll be presented with a new screen to select the reason for flagging this order. - Pending Review - The system automatically marks orders Pending Review based on AVS and CVV rules you established when enabling Risk Tools. For example, if you selected to flag orders (not reject) with incorrect address, zip or postal code information, customers would first be given the chance to correct their billing information but the order would be submitted even if not corrected. When you view the individual order page for this order you would notice that the order has been marked Pending Review.
The Pending Review status serves to alert you that an order was flagged based on the AVS and or CVV Rules you established. Use the AVS and CVV Responses that appear in the Payment Info section of the Order page to help you make more informed decisions about the level of risk associated with each transaction.
Note: The Pending Review status is essentially the same as marking an order OK in that all post-order processing (confirmation email, real-time authorization) is the same. You will still be charged a transaction fee for orders marked Pending Review. If you suspect a problem with the order, and you need to follow up with the customer and/or issuing bank you should mark the order On Hold.
