Accept a new credit card type in your store

Find out how to add a new payment method type for online processing.

Article ID: SLN19357

To start accepting a new credit card type for online processing, you must contact your merchant account provider. If you'll be processing the card offline (through your own virtual terminal) then you don't need to contact your merchant account provider.

Once you've been set up for that card type in the First Data database by your merchant account provider, you can set up your store to accept the new card type and then display the new card type on your checkout pages.

Set up a new credit card type

  1. Sign in to your My Services page.
  2. Click the Store link.
The Store link is under Control Panels.
  3. Go to Payment Center.
The Payment Center link under Order Settings.
  4. Click the Add/Edit Payment Options button.
    The Add/Edit Payment Options button.
  5. In the Processor column, click the Offline link next to the card type you wish to enable.
    Click the Offline link.
  6. Select your payment processor for the card type then click OK.
    Selecting the payment processor.
  7. In the Checkout Display Status column, to the right of the new card, click the edit link next to Not Displayed.
The edit link next to Not Displayed.
  8. Confirm that you wish to display the new card in your checkout by clicking the Yes button.
The new card will be displayed in the checkout.
The card will now show as Displayed.
The new card is now displayed.
  9. Return to Store Manager and publish your Order Settings.
    The Publish Order Settings link.

Getting a Code 04 error? If so, you're not currently set up for that card type in the First Data database and you may need to wait a day or two and try again, or you may need to contact your merchant account provider to make sure you're set up before you try again. This problem can only be resolved by your merchant account provider and not Turbify.

Note: If your new card types don't appear on your checkout pages, check that you published your order settings. If a red asterisk appears next to the link, you have changes that still need to be published.
