No. When creating or editing a redirect rule in Page Redirect Manager, absolute links beginning with http:// or https:// must be entered for both the Old Page URL and New Page URL. This also applies to creating or editing rules using a CSV file.
If you're not sure what the difference between a relative link and an absolute link is, this example may help you distinguish between the two link types:
- A relative link is a link path pointing to another site page in relation to the site page the link appears on. When creating a relative link from one page to another within your site, the link does not begin with http://www.widgetdesigns.com/ but rather with a path. For example, if page A is located at http://www.widgetdesigns.com/category-a/page-a.html and you want to direct traffic to page A to page B located at http://www.widgetdesigns.com/category-b/page-b.html, a relative path from page A would be /category-b/page-b.html. Page Redirect Manager won't accept relative paths when creating redirect rules.
- An absolute link points to the specific location of the page, rather than a relative path. Using the example of page A and page B given above, the Old Page URL (page A) must be entered in Page Redirect Manager or in your CSV file as http://www.widgetdesigns.com/category-a/page-a.html, and the New Page URL (page B) must be entered as http://www.widgetdesigns.com/category-b/page-b.html. Page Redirect Manager will only accept absolute links beginning with http:// or https:// when creating page redirect rules.
