Owner
An owner is the individual who purchased the Small Business plan. The Owner ID is the login ID under which the plan was purchased. There can only be one owner of a plan, and owners can never be removed.
Only owners can:
- access and make changes to billing information
- change and cancel plans
- edit domain information (WHOIS)
- lock and unlock a domain
- access their Website Builder site
The roles available in the Access Manager depend on the owner's Small Business plan. Each role includes a set of features to which the assigned user will have access.
Web Hosting, WordPress hosting, and Website Design Service
If you have a Web Hosting, WordPress hosting, or Website Design Service plan, you can make another user an Administrator of your account. Important: Administrators will not be able to access an Owner's Website Builder site.
The Administrator can manage your entire website, with access to all of your control panel features, including most site design tools, Live Insights, and other management features; promotion tools; the Email Control Panel, and some domain settings. This user can also add other Administrators, delete or initiate changes for any email address associated with that plan and contact customer care for support.
Note: If the domain is locked, a user who has been set up as an Administrator will not be able to change the name servers. While the domain is locked, only the account owner will be able to unlock and then modify the name servers.
Business Mail
If you have a Business Mail plan, Administrators can access the Email Control Panel, and some domain settings.
Domains
Administrators on Domains plans can add, edit, and delete DNS settings. However, Administrators won't be able to lock or unlock a domain or change the name servers if the domain is locked.
Merchant Solutions and Store v.1
If you have a Merchant Solutions or Store v.1 plan, you can choose from these Access Manager roles:
Administrator | The Administrator can manage your entire store, with access to all of your Store Manager, Web Hosting Control Panel, and Email Control Panel features, including the Store Editor; order processing (except for viewing full credit card numbers, see the Credit Card role); promotion tools; and some domain settings. This person can also add Administrators, Store Administrators, Credit Card role, email users, and can contact customer care for support.
Note: If the domain is locked, a user who has been set up as an Administrator will not be able to change the name servers. While the domain is locked, only the account owner will be able to unlock and then modify the name servers. |
Store Administrator | The Store Administrator can access your entire Store Manager (but not the Web Hosting and Email Control Panels), including the Store Editor; order processing (except for viewing full credit card numbers, see the Credit Card role); and promotion tools. This person can also add Store Administrators and other users and can contact customer care for support. |
Store Consultant | A Store Consultant can create and edit pages of your store, review your store metrics, and publish order settings. This user can also access all site design tools, store statistics, some site and order settings, and most promotion tools but cannot view orders, make user-access changes in Store Manager, or assign access to other users. |
Store Editor | A Store Editor can build and edit your store pages and add products using the Store Editor, Design Wizard, the Add Product Wizard, and, in Merchant Solutions plans, the Catalog Manager and Store Tag Hub. This user does not have access to any order settings or tools, store metrics, or promotion tools and cannot assign access to other users. |
Store Analyst | A Store Analyst can only review store metrics using site statistics. This user cannot edit pages, view orders, publish order settings, make user-access changes in Store Manager, or assign access to other users. |
Order Processor | An Order Processor can manage your order fulfillment. This person has access to the Order Manager, Catalog Requests, and Gift Certificates, and can publish order settings, but cannot process payments or view full credit card numbers, manage inventory, edit pages, view statistics, or modify site and order settings. This user also cannot assign access to other users. |
Payment Processor | A Payment Processor can perform payment processing and manage order fulfillment, with access to Order Manager, Catalog Requests, and Gift Certificates, and has the ability to publish order settings. A payment processor cannot manage inventory, edit pages, view full credit card numbers, view statistics, or modify site and order settings. |
Credit Card | Users assigned the Credit Card role can perform payment processing and view full credit card numbers in Order Manager. A user with this role can also manage order fulfillment, with access to Order Manager, Catalog Requests, and Gift Certificates, and has the ability to publish order settings. This user cannot manage inventory, edit pages, view statistics, or modify site and order settings. Temporary assignment of this role only when full credit card numbers are needed for payment processing is strongly advised. The Payment Processor role may be used for all payment processing actions except viewing full credit card numbers.
Owner and Administrator users may add the Credit Card role to their own access permissions if they require access to view full credit card numbers. Assigning this role temporarily only when full credit card numbers are needed for payment processing is strongly advised. |
