Note: The following page outlines variables that are only found in the 2.0 version of the Store Editor. If you do not see this section of variables, you are using the 3.0 version of Store Editor and can focus on variables specific to Store Editor 3.0.
The Store Editor version 2.0 gives you the option of displaying your navigation bar either vertically (side-buttons) along the left side of your pages or horizontally along the top of your pages.
Note: In the top-buttons format, the same buttons appear in the navigation menu as with side-buttons and thus the page width is extended horizontally. If you have too many buttons with this format, your page width may require visitors to scroll sideways to view the page which is considered poor design. If your site requires this many buttons consider using the side-buttons page format or reducing the button-padding, button edge width and text to reduce the width of the navigation bar.
Many advanced sites wish to display both a top navigation bar and a side navigation bar. This format is typically for sites with both a depth and breadth of content. For example, Amazon.com displays a row of tabs along the top to departments (books, toys, etc.) but also displays links to categories within the department along the left. To implement such a navigation scheme in the Store Editor you would either need to explore custom RTML templates or insert formatted HTML into the message field (or a similar field that accepts HTML) for pages in your Store.
