Issue a PayPal refund

Learn how to give a full or partial refund for a PayPal order.

You can issue a full or partial refund for a PayPal order after you've captured funds for the order.

Important: You can only refund for up to 60 days after the funds were captured, and you can only issue one refund per transaction.

Issue a PayPal refund

  1. Sign in to your My Services page.
  2. Click the Store link.
    The Store link is in the Control Panels column.
  3. Go to Orders.
    The Orders link is under Process.
  4. View the order to which you wish to apply the refund.
    • In the all new Order Manager, click the order number link in the ID column.

    • In classic Order Manager, enter the order number in the View field then click the View button.

  5. The individual order page will show a Process through PayPal panel if PayPal was the payment method. Enter the amount to refund in the Amount field then click the Refund Transaction button. Note: This button only shows after you've captured funds.

The transaction will process, and the status will display for you on a confirmation screen. If successful, the transaction will be marked OK. After clicking the OK button to return to the Order Review page, you'll see Refund in the Payment section of the page.
