Thank you for your feedback
Based on the rules you set, orders with invalid information can either be accepted, flagged, or rejected. Orders with valid information will process as they currently do with the addition that CVV information will appear on the individual order pages as well.
The following shows what your customers will see based on the rules you have set up, and whether the AVS/CVV information is valid or not.
While this outlines the typical process, it is important to note that Risk Tools rules are applied after AVS and CVV response codes are received from both the issuing bank and FDMS, and thus the issuing bank primarily controls how the transaction is processed. The issuing bank for the credit card entered determines which response code will be sent, not FDMS. As such, one issuing bank may send a decline response code while another may send an invalid response code. This can lead to certain orders being declined from certain issuing banks but as this happens before Risk Tools rules are applied, there is nothing you can do as a merchant except suggest another card type.
Discover Card does not follow the model outlined above. Read more about how Discover Card handles CVV information.
